About the role

A packaging engineer has an active role in managing new NPI projects by collaborating with cross-functional teams with responsibilities in creating packaging specifications for Primary, Secondary and Tertiary items.

Your responsibilities
  • Design and development experience: Create and develop packaging designs for new and existing products – including for E-commerce business.
  • Material selection: Source and evaluate a variety of packaging materials with supplier’s support, considering factors like cost, sustainability, and performance.
  • Specification and testing: Develop packaging specifications, conduct trials to ensure packaging meets all requirements and regulations.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work with teams like marketing, Category, R&D, Quality and manufacturing to align packaging with product and shipping needs.
  • Lead packaging material laboratory tests, packaging line trials and transport tests during implementation phase.
  • Project management: Manage packaging projects, including timelines and budgets, from conception to production.
  • Documentation: Maintain all packaging-related documentation and records.
  • Identify and deliver packaging cost savings initiatives.
  • Support Quality Team to improve consume experience and costumers requirements.
The experience we're looking for

  • Fluent in Italian and English

  • Strong knowledge of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and testing procedures.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with relevant software, such as PLM, SAP and design software
