RINA is looking for an OT Cyber Security Engineer located in Rome or Genoa to join their Operating Engine Division. The ideal candidate will identify security risks in complex systems, particularly within automation plants and onboard vessels.

Responsibilities include performing vulnerability assessments, designing security measures, and drafting technical reports, especially aligned with IEC 62443 requirements. Strong knowledge in cybersecurity, problem-solving, and communication skills in both Italian and English are essential.

Competenze

• Strong background in cybersecurity risk analysis.
• Previous experience in OT systems at plant or subsystem level.
• Capacity to prepare technical reports focused on IEC 62443.

OT Cyber Security Engineer

Location: Rome or Genoa – Office within the Operating Engine Division.

Mission

We are looking for a motivated engineer to expand our technical team.

Key Accountabilities

• Identify security risks within organizations and complex systems/architectures, particularly automation plants and onboard vessels.
• Perform vulnerability assessments in IT/OT environments.
• Design security measures and provide recommendations or suggestions to improve security postures.
• Provide support to customers in cybersecurity related activities.
• Draft technical reports with a focus on IEC 62443 requirements.
• Write technical documentation, including descriptions and test procedures.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or Cyber Security.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of security aspects of principal operating systems.
• Previous experience in OT systems (plant or subsystem level).
• Previous experience in cybersecurity risk analysis.
• Strong problem‑solving ability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills – Italian and English minimum.
• Flexibility and ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced atmosphere.
• Availability to travel within the country and abroad.
• Adequate knowledge of networking models (Purdue model, Zone & Conduit model, etc.).

Desired Requirements

• Security certifications: GIAC/GICSP, ISA62443 related, ISACA CISM/CISA/CRISC.

Previous experience in Red/Blue/Purple Teams will be considered a plus.
