OPERATIONS MANAGER
Purpose of the Role

Reporting to the Site Director, the Operations Manager will be responsible for leading all day-to-day production activities at a regulated industrial site, ensuring compliance with Seveso III legislation and the company’s safety, quality and environmental standards. The position plays a key role in driving operational excellence, optimizing processes and costs, and fostering a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement across the plant.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with Seveso III and all relevant safety, environmental and quality regulations
  • Deliver planned production output while maintaining high standards of process reliability and product quality
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering and Maintenance to ensure equipment efficiency and minimize downtime
  • Coordinate with Quality, Regulatory and Supply Chain teams to support audits, certifications and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure cost-effective and sustainable production
  • Drive process optimization, cost control and performance improvement through Lean and Operational Excellence methodologies
  • Support the introduction of new products and processes, ensuring readiness and compliance with operational standards
  • Promote a strong safety and performance culture by leading, coaching and motivating production teams
  • Implement company policies in accordance with national labor regulations and internal procedures
  • Contribute to strategic improvement projects and cross-functional initiatives supporting business growth.
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field
  • 7–10 years of experience in operations management within a chemical or process manufacturing environment regulated under Seveso III (Directive 2012 / 18 / EU)
  • Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to engage and motivate cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, with a focus on operational efficiency and continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication, influencing and organizational skills.
  • Fluent in English and Italian.

Based in the North-West of Italy.
