Macquarie Group in Milan offers a six-month internship in the Country Coverage Italy team, providing hands-on experience with high-profile financial transactions from day one. You will work on financial analysis, valuations and market research while contributing to live deals and developing technical advisory skills.

As an off-cycle intern starting January 2027, you will prepare research materials, assist in pitches, and learn from experienced professionals in a supportive environment.

This six‑month internship gives you the opportunity to work alongside experienced colleagues on meaningful, real‑world transactions shaping the Italian market. This internship will give you hands on experience with high profile financial transactions from day one, as you build technical skills and contribute to live deals as part of our Country Coverage team.

What role will you play?

Our Country Coverage Italy team, part of Macquarie Capital, works with clients across the Italian market with a broad range of services including buy- and sell-side mergers and acquisitions (M&A) advisory, debt advisory and capital, allowing our clients to access capital, pursue strategic opportunities and deliver high-impact transactions.

As an off‑cycle intern, you will contribute to live transactions through financial analysis, company valuations and market research. Working alongside experienced professionals, you’ll develop technical and advisory skills through a range of activities including preparation of research and presentation materials, financial analysis and valuations for pitches or live deals.

We are looking for interns to join our team for six months from January 2027.

What You Offer

• You are in your final year of university (bachelor or master), or have graduated in the last year with an excellent academic record


• A quick learner with a proactive attitude and ability to work independently and flexibly, with strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail


• Previous internship experience in private equity, M&A or similar, or alternatively in deal advisory within a consultancy firm.


• Good understanding of basic accounting and valuation theory, methodologies and applications


• Clear and confident communication skills with fluency in Italian and English
