A leading global food company in Alba, Italy, is looking for a NIR Spectroscopy Analyst Trainee for a six-month internship. This role involves managing NIR activities across plants, developing analytical methods, and providing technical support. Candidates should be pursuing a degree in Chemistry or a related field and demonstrate strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office. As a NIR Spectroscopy Analyst Trainee, you will join the global Food Safety & Quality team, a function dedicated to ensuring product safety and quality across all our plants worldwide. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in analytical chemistry and spectroscopic techniques, with a particular focus on Near Infrared (NIR) spectroscopy applied to food products. The curricular internship will last six months and will be based in our Alba offices where you will work closely with the Contaminant Laboratory GC. Your role will involve supporting global plants, contributing to the development of analytical methods, and ensuring calibration consistency across approximately 26 spectrometers located in 20 different sites worldwide.
You are currently enrolled in a degree program in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology (CTF), Food Technology, Food Biotechnology, or a related scientific field, and you are looking for a curricular internship as part of your academic path. You have a theoretical understanding of spectroscopy, particularly NIR, or a strong interest in learning more about it. You are highly proficient in using computers and Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, and you have a good command of English to manage global interactions and documentation effectively. You bring an analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to document processes accurately. Above all, you are proactive, curious, and thrive in collaborative environments, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills for remote interactions with colleagues worldwide.
