Job summary

Mandarin Oriental, Milan, part of the Mandarin Oriental Group, is seeking a Night Chef de Rang for Room Service. Based in Milan, you will deliver exceptional in-room dining with high standards of service and collaborate with Night Manager and other departments to ensure guest satisfaction.

You should have 2–3 years of relevant luxury-hospitality experience, be fluent in Italian and English, and be available for overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

Previous experience of at least 2-3 years in a similar role within luxury hotels, fine dining or high-end hospitality environments.
Fluency in Italian and English; additional languages are an advantage.

Responsibilities

Professional in-room serving of food and drinks.
Provide professional advice and customer care for guests.
Deliver in-room dining orders timely and accurately.
Check order accuracy before delivering and ensure completeness.
Prepare VIP amenities and mise en place; keep Room Service area clean.
Operate cash register and ensure correct cash accounting; final bill reconciliation.

About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Milan within the Room Service Department in Milan, the Night Chef de Rang is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience during nighttime operations, ensuring the highest standards of service, quality and guest satisfaction. The Night Chef de Rang reports to the Room Service Manager and works closely with the Night Manager and other operational departments.

As Night Chef de Rang, you willbe responsiblefor the following duties:

Professional in-room serving of food and drinks
Professional advice and customer care for our guests
Excellent product and sales knowledge
Deliver in room dining order to the guests in a timely manner, within the quoted time
Check accuracy of order before delivering – be sure it is complete.
Assisting and preparing all VIP amenities
Preparing all orders and setting up tables or tray according to the order in timely manner complying with our quality and hygiene standards
Picking up the table after the use by the guests or as per guest’s request
Preparing the required Mise en Place and keeping the Room Service area clean
Booking all transactions in the cash register system and carrying out correct cash accounting
Making sure that all product served are accounted for on the final bill before presenting it to the guest
Complying with hygiene regulations and cleanliness within the framework of the HACCP guidelines

As Night Chef de Rang, weexpectfrom you:

Previous experience of at least 2-3 years in a similar role within luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants or high-end hospitality environments.
Fluency in Italian and English; additional languages are considered an advantage.
Availability to work overnight shifts, weekends and public holidays.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
