Job summary

RE:LAB Srl in Ancona is seeking a Networking Engineer to design, implement, and optimize network systems. You will collaborate with engineers and system specialists to ensure reliability, performance, and security of the infrastructure, supporting development projects.

The role requires a Master’s degree and at least 3 years in networking, with Cisco/Extreme networks expertise and strong virtualization and security skills. This is an on-site, full-time position with 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in networking and network security.
• Advanced knowledge of Cisco and Extreme Networks switches and routers, networking protocols, switching, routing, and network management.
• Strong skills in Proxmox/VMware, Docker, and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
• Advanced firewall and network security skills, with basic knowledge of information security.
• Knowledge of Linux and scripting tools.
• Ability to design and troubleshoot networks, interpret system diagrams, and use laboratory test equipment.
• Technical documentation skills, covering requirements, statements of work, technical notes, progress reports, and meeting minutes.
• Good written, spoken, and technical English.
• Availability for domestic and international travel.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and integrate network infrastructures, including switching, routing, and network management.
• Deploy and maintain firewalls and network security solutions.
• Configure and manage virtualization environments, containers, and orchestration platforms.
• Perform network testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and performance optimization, using laboratory equipment where required.
• Analyze technical requirements and system diagrams, and prepare project documentation, including specifications, technical notes, progress reports, and meeting minutes.
