Estarta Poland is seeking an experienced Consulting Engineer – Networking to join our Professional Services team in Rome, Italy. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing Cisco networking solutions for customers, with emphasis on routing, switching, and SDA/SD-WAN expertise.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / IT or related field.
• 3–6 years of professional experience in network engineering, consulting, implementation, or services.
• Strong knowledge of Routing & Switching technologies.
• Hands-on experience in network design, implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• CCNP certification or higher is required.
• Fluent in Italian and English.

We are looking for an experienced Consulting Engineer – Networking to join our Professional Services team in Rome, Italy. The successful candidate will work closely with customers, account teams, partners, and internal technical resources to design, implement, optimize, and troubleshoot Cisco networking solutions.

This is a customer-facing technical role that requires strong expertise in Routing & Switching, combined with experience in at least one additional Cisco technology domain, preferably Cisco SD-WAN or Cisco SD-Access (SDA).

The ideal candidate will have strong network design and troubleshooting capabilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate customer business and technical requirements into effective network solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, troubleshoot, and optimize Cisco networking products, services, and solutions for customer environments.
• Work directly with customers to understand their technical and business requirements and translate them into practical network architectures and solutions.
• Provide technical expertise throughout the planning, deployment, implementation, migration, and optimization phases of customer projects.
• Take ownership of assigned technical tasks and project deliverables, ensuring successful implementation within agreed timelines and quality standards.
• Develop and review network design documentation, including High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), implementation plans, migration plans, and change management plans.
• Diagnose and resolve complex network issues across Cisco networking environments, acting as an initial technical point of contact for assigned customer engagements.
• Apply advanced troubleshooting methodologies to identify root causes and provide efficient, sustainable solutions to customer issues.
• Build and utilize test environments and network simulations to validate configurations, resolve complex technical problems, and identify compatibility issues before production implementation.
• Configure and deploy Cisco networking technologies using appropriate software tools and platforms.
• Support network migrations, technology transitions, upgrades, and optimization initiatives while minimizing customer impact.
• Collaborate with Cisco account teams, partners, and other technical specialists to develop and deliver appropriate customer solutions.
• Provide technical input and recommendations to Sales teams during presales activities and solution development.
• Support the development of technical proposals and contribute to solution design based on customer requirements.
• Create and deliver customer-facing technical documentation, presentations, knowledge-transfer sessions, and other project collateral.
• Capture and share implementation methodologies, technical best practices, lessons learned, and reusable solutions with the broader technical community.
• Contribute to the development of technical intellectual property, including scripts, automation tools, templates, and other digital assets where applicable.
• Ensure that all technical deliverables are aligned with customer business objectives and expected outcomes.
• Maintain a strong customer focus and build effective relationships with technical and business stakeholders.
• Follow company policies, processes, methodologies, and professional services standards while ensuring high-quality customer delivery.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–6 years of relevant professional experience in network engineering, consulting, implementation, or professional services.
• Strong and proven knowledge of Routing & Switching (RS) technologies.
• Solid hands-on experience in network design, implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with at least one additional Cisco technology, preferably:
• Cisco SD-Access (SDA)
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking concepts, architectures, and protocols.
• Hands-on experience working with Cisco networking products and technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot moderately complex networking problems and evaluate multiple possible technical solutions before determining the appropriate approach.
• Experience working in customer-facing technical environments is highly preferred.
• CCNP certification or higher is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Fluent in Italian and English.

Preferred Skills

• Experience delivering Cisco networking solutions within enterprise customer environments.
• Experience with network migrations, technology transitions, and large-scale implementations.
• Knowledge of Cisco network automation and scripting.
