Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine in Milano seeks a National Government Affairs Manager to shape external healthcare policy by building trusted relationships with policymakers, regulators, and leading think tanks. The role requires deep policy insight, knowledge of legislative processes, and the ability to translate business priorities into advocacy strategies, with collaboration across Market Access, Medical Affairs, Communications and Legal.

Fluency in Italian and English is required.

Competenze

• Master's degree or higher in a relevant field such as political science, law, economics, or public policy.
• Proven experience in Government Affairs, Public Affairs, Healthcare Policy, or Institutional Relations.
• Strong understanding of Italian healthcare and political environment.
• Experience in policy analysis and legislative drafting.
• Established network of institutional stakeholders and policy influencers is a plus.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills.
• Fluent in Italian and English.

About the Role

At Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, we are seeking a highly motivated and strategic National Government Affairs Manager to join our Government Affairs, Policy & Patient Engagement team.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the external healthcare and policy environment by building trusted relationships with institutional stakeholders, policymakers, regulatory authorities, and leading think tanks. This position requires a strong understanding of public policy, legislative processes, and healthcare systems, combined with the ability to translate business priorities into impactful advocacy strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute advocacy strategies to support the company's business and policy priorities at national level.
• Monitor the political, legislative, and regulatory landscape, identifying emerging trends, risks, and opportunities relevant to the healthcare sector.
• Draft policy papers, legislative proposals, briefing materials, and institutional position statements.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with policymakers, regulators, parliamentary stakeholders, and key external influencers.
• Act as an early-warning system, providing insights on policy developments and their potential impact on the business.
• Support the development of initiatives that demonstrate the company's commitment to patients, healthcare system sustainability, and social responsibility.
• Lead the planning and execution of high-profile institutional events and policy engagement activities.
• Partner closely with Market Access, Medical Affairs, Communications, Legal, Commercial and other cross-functional teams to ensure a coordinated approach to external engagement and policy shaping.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Political Science, Law, Economics, Public Affairs, Healthcare Policy, or a related field.
• Proven experience in Government Affairs, Public Affairs, Healthcare Policy, Institutional Relations, or related functions.
• Strong understanding of the Italian healthcare and political environment.
• Experience in policy analysis and legislative drafting.
• Established network of institutional stakeholders and healthcare policy influencers is considered a strong asset.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills.
• Strong strategic thinking, organizational agility, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Fluent Italian and English.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is: €48.600,00 - €77.395,00
