QUALIFICATIONS and DUTIES

• Valid Michigan School Administrator Certification Must hold a Michigan School Administrator Certificate (or Permit with enrollment in an approved Administrator Preparation program within six months)
• Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership or Administration Master’s in Educational Administration, Leadership, or a closely related field
• Successful Teaching Experience (3–5 years) Evidence of effective teaching practice at the middle or secondary level is generally required
• Instructional Leadership & Curriculum Oversight Experience leading curriculum development, implementing instructional initiatives, and using data to improve learning outcomes
• Staff Supervision and Performance Evaluation Proven ability to supervise, mentor, evaluate, and support certified and support staff
• School Safety & Student Discipline Management Skilled in creating safe environments, implementing discipline plans, restorative practices, and supervising student conduct
• Data-Driven Decision-Making & School Improvement Ability to monitor student performance, assess programming effectiveness, and support continuous improvement processes
• Budgeting, Scheduling, and School Operations Competence in managing building budgets, developing master schedules, overseeing facilities, and ensuring smooth daily operations
• Community, Family, and Stakeholder Engagement Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with parents, community members, and district staff to build partnerships
• Compliance with Policies, Laws, and Accreditation Standards Knowledge of Michigan and federal education laws, accreditation requirements, state reporting (e.g., M-STEP, accountability), and implementation of board policies

Salary/Benefits
