Job summary

IQVIA seeks a Medical Strategy Lead in Oncology (home based) to provide strategic medical and scientific expertise in hematology-oncology. You will work independently under the head of the center of excellence, develop proposals, and guide clinical development plans.

Responsibilities include client meetings, data analysis, literature monitoring, and mentoring teams across functions, with strong emphasis on cross-therapy collaboration and external consulting through the R&D lifecycle.

Qualifications

• MD oncologist with hematology training; solid-tumor experience a plus.
• 5–7 years relevant experience, including at least 3 years in biopharmaceutical industry.
• Proven ability to lead and manage research and development projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage R&D projects within hematology-oncology.
• Provide scientific and clinical advice to internal stakeholders and develop proposals.
• Analyze mechanisms of action, mine data, assess recruitment and standards of care.
• Stay updated with latest literature in hematology and oncology.
• Participate in client meetings, bid defense, and governance meetings.
• Coach project teams to align execution with medical strategy.
• Collaborate with BD, operations, and other medical strategy leads.

Essential functions

provide scientific and clinical advice to internal stakeholders and develop proposals, including protocol design and clinical development plans.

analyze mechanisms of action, mine data, assess patient recruitment, standards of care and competitive landscape.

maintain awareness of latest literature in hematology and oncology.

participate in client meetings, proposal discussions, bid defense, post-award transition and governance meetings.

coach and prepare project teams to align execution strategy with medical considerations.

collaborate with business development, operations, commercial consulting services, real-world services and other medical strategy leads.

act as internal and external consultant throughout the research and development lifecycle and clinical trials.

Qualifications

md oncologist with training in hematology (solid-tumor experience a plus).

5-7 years relevant experience, including at least 3 years in the biopharmaceutical industry.
