The Position

Within the Medical Department in Italy, reporting to the Medical Unit Leader Neuroscience, you will be responsible for defining and executing the local medical strategy for the Neuroscience area in collaboration with the Disease Medical Leader, targeting the stakeholders assigned to you. This will be done in compliance with applicable regulations and SOPs, and in alignment with the national disease area strategy and its priorities.

As a part of the medical team, you will work closely with the cross-functional national team, contributing to the team's performance and enhancing the teamwork experience. You will foster a customer-centric culture by ensuring that medical and scientific activities address the needs of the scientific community and support patient benefit and safety.

Main Accountabilities

  • Address relevant knowledge gaps in the disease area of responsibility by gaining insights from the scientific and patient communities regarding unmet needs, and by collaborating with internal stakeholders (e.g., Medical Department, Marketing, Integrated Access, Regulatory, Patient Partnership, Commercial);
  • Establish effective peer-to-peer relationships with external stakeholders to execute the disease strategy, fully aligning with ethical standards and compliance principles, as well as Roche SOPs and applicable regulations;
  • Support and facilitate the execution of Roche-sponsored studies and research activities in full alignment with the integrated evidence plan and the publication plan, collaborating closely collaborating with the Clinical Operations team;
  • Ensure the operational readiness of clinical sites in terms of scientific and technical competences, infrastructure, and resource management.

Residence required in the managed territory (preferably Sicily).

Experience and Skills

  • Background in Medical Management highly preferable and regarded;
  • Proven experience within the pharmaceutical industry, specifically in customer-facing roles, including expert level of stakeholders / TAEs engagement;
  • Previous knowledge of neuroscience area;
  • Strong organizational and team-working abilities, with excellent relational skills;
  • Project management mindset, with the ability to organize and prioritize work;
  • Proficiency in Italian to communicate with local internal and external stakeholders, as well as fluency in English for broader internal collaboration across the Roche enterprise;
  • Ability to deliver scientific presentations with strong communication and influencing skills;
  • Strong business acumen;
  • Systems thinker with deep listening skills.

Professional and Technical Requirements

  • Education/Qualification: Life Science (Medical Degree will be considered a plus);
  • Minimum: University Degree

Travel required: up to 60% of the time.
