Adecco Italy is seeking a Mechanical Laboratory Senior Technician to support development of robotic medical devices. The role focuses on planning, executing, and documenting mechanical tests, creating fixtures, and mentoring junior staff. Strong design control and reliability testing experience is essential.

You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate results and contribute to continuous improvement across laboratory processes and testing methods.

Formación

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Technical Diploma.
• 7–10 years of mechanical testing or laboratory experience.
• Experience with design controls and testing protocols.

Responsabilidades

• Plan, execute, and document mechanical lab testing for development and validation.
• Design custom test fixtures, jigs, and lab equipment.
• Analyze test data and prepare technical reports per QMS.
• Lead root cause investigations and drive CAPA actions.
• Define lab best practices, standards, and procedures.
• Maintain calibration and qualification of lab equipment.
• Collaborate with design engineers to translate requirements into tests.
• Support transfers, validations, and supplier qualification when needed.
• Provide mentorship to junior technicians and foster continuous improvement.

Adecco Italy is seeking, for direct placement with a leading company in the medical robotics sector, a Mechanical Laboratory Senior Technician.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the development of robotic medical devices and microsurgical instruments. This position will be responsible for planning, executing, and documenting laboratory testing activities, developing custom test fixtures and equipment, maintaining laboratory operational capabilities, and providing technical leadership in mechanical characterization, reliability testing, and root cause analysis investigations.

The candidate will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and document mechanical laboratory testing activities to support product development, verification, validation, and sustaining engineering activities.
• Design and develop custom test methods, fixtures, jigs, and laboratory equipment.
• Analyze test data and prepare detailed technical reports in compliance with Design Control requirements.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis investigations for issues identified during product development.
• Define laboratory best practices, testing standards, and operating procedures.
• Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, qualified, and compliant with Quality Management System requirements.
• Collaborate with mechanical design engineers to translate product requirements into effective testing strategies.
• Support manufacturing transfers, process validation activities, and supplier qualification projects when laboratory testing is required.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior technicians, sharing specialized laboratory expertise.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to laboratory processes, equipment utilization, and testing methodologies.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Technical Diploma.
• Minimum 7-10 years of experience in mechanical testing, laboratory engineering, product development, or verification activities.
• Hands-on experience with manufacturing technologies such as CNC machining and WEDM (Wire Electrical Discharge Machining).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical testing methodologies, reliability testing, and experimental design.
• Experience in designing test fixtures, laboratory equipment, and custom experimental setups.
• Good proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools.
• Experience using laboratory equipment such as force measurement systems, test/load benches, optical measurement devices, microscopes, and environmental testing equipment.
• Excellent technical documentation and reporting skills.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
