A leading engineering firm seeks a Mechanical (HVAC) and Plumbing Specialist in Catania, Italy. The role involves designing HVAC and plumbing systems, preparing technical documents, and providing on-site engineering assistance. Candidates should have a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, experience in design processes, and be fluent in English. Travel within Italy and internationally may be required.

Buildings Mechanical (HVAC) and plumbing specialist

Mechanical (HVAC) and Plumbing Systems design for Civil and Industrial buildings related to the assigned project, based on the guidelines of relevant specification and contractual document or received by Building Design Leader in agreement with other disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical (HVAC) and Plumbing equipment design and sizing by discipline application software, functional schematics and technical specifications based on schematics and layouts for HVAC and mechanical equipment; plumbing including sanitary water systems, water supply and drainage systems.
• Material Requisition and Work Requisition preparation in proposal and detailed design phases according main technical specification, contractual and economic requirements.
• Technical support in bill of quantities preparation in proposal, detailed design and construction phases.
• Mechanical (HVAC) and Plumbing Specialist or Building Design Leader field engineering assistance for technical process approval, shop drawings and vendor’s material follow up, test and commissioning activities.
• Availability to travel for short periods in Italy and abroad.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical field.
• Fluent English speaker and writer.
• Knowledge of HVAC & Plumbing main international standards.
• Experience in HVAC & Plumbing design processes, for example design philosophies for buildings: Control Rooms, Electrical Substations, Laboratories, Administration buildings, Process Buildings / Shelters (like Pump House, Compressor House).
• Field work experience and confidence working in and around Industrial Plant (petrochemical, oil & gas) equipment, systems and conditions will be a plus.
• Experience of working with MEP Subcontractors.
• Knowledge of drafting tools (AutoCAD) and BIM Tools (REVIT, Navisworks) as well as of HVAC and Plumbing main design software (CARRIER HAP, REVIT integrated software’s as MAGICAD).
• Competence in Energy modelling-analysis of non-residential buildings.
• 10 - 15 anni di Esperanza.
• Esperienza di software : Calcolo termotecnico Carrier ma nache conoscere le basi della normativa americana Ascher airer e che tecnimont utilizzano principalemnte; Diagramma psicometrico dell’acqua per le traspormazioni uniche dell’aria. Loro fanno impianti di trasformazione aria e comptenze e sistemi e regolazioni HVAC.
