Job summary

SIMIC is seeking a Mechanical Drafting Engineer to design and create 2D and 3D drawings for mechanical components and assemblies. You will collaborate with engineers and production teams to define design solutions and prepare production documentation.

The role requires strong CAD/SolidWorks skills, GD&T knowledge, and experience creating BOMs, with the ability to work in a team and meet ISO drafting standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent technical diploma.
• 1–2 years in a similar mechanical/metalworking role.
• Strong 2D/3D drafting skills with CAD/SolidWorks and GD&T knowledge.
• Experience creating BOMs; knowledge of materials and machining processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and create 2D and 3D technical drawings for mechanical components and assemblies.
• Collaborate with engineers and production to define design solutions and prepare production documentation.
• Support the design process and manage/update technical documentation.
• Report to the Department Manager as part of the Technical Department.

Job description

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and creating technical drawings for mechanical components and assemblies, collaborating with the team to define design solutions and prepare production documentation. As part of the Technical Department, they will report directly to the Department Manager.

They will create 2D and 3D technical drawings using CAD software and format them for drafting, including dimensions, tolerances, and materials. They will support the design process and collaborate with engineers and the production team, managing and updating technical documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a technical diploma in mechanical engineering;
• 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the mechanical/metalworking sector;
• Excellent knowledge of 2D/3D technical drafting and CAD/SolidWorks software;
• Knowledge of tolerances (GD&T), materials, surface treatments, and machining processes;
• Experience creating bills of materials (BOMs);
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic knowledge of technical English;
• Ability to work in a team, meet deadlines, and comply with ISO standards in mechanical drafting.
