Candidates should have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, 7+ years of experience in mechanical design, and be proficient in 3D CAD software. Fluency in English is required.

Dainese, a global company leader in protective equipment and garments for motorcycling and dynamic sports, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer Coordinator for our Helmets Research & Development Department.

he / she will be responsible for lead and coordinate the mechanical design team for the development of innovative, high-performance, and safe motorcycle helmets, ensuring compliance with Dainese quality standards and international regulations. The role combines hands‑on design activities with team leadership, focusing on innovation, industrialization, and time‑to‑market.

YOU WILL BE IN CHARGE OF :
  • Coordinate the mechanical design team (3-6 people plus external suppliers), assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and supporting the technical growth of team members.
  • Design complex mechanical components for motorcycle helmets (shells, EPS, visor mechanisms, ventilation systems, closures, etc.) using 3D CAD software (preferably NX, CATIA, or equivalent).
  • Collaborate with industrial design, industrialization, certification, quality and Operation teams to ensure design consistency and manufacturability.
  • Manage technical documentation (drawings, BOMs, technical specifications) and support prototype and pre-series validation.
  • Interface with suppliers and external partners to define technical solutions and solve production issues.
  • Ensure compliance with homologation (ECE, DOT, etc.) and compliant standards (PFAS, REACH,....) and internal safety and quality requirements and
  • Promote continuous innovation by identifying new technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Support the definition of development plans and project timelines in collaboration with Project Managers and Product Managers.
WE'D LOVE TO GET TO KNOW YOU IF :
  • You have a Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or equivalent.
  • You have at least 7years' work experience in mechanical design, preferably in the automotive, sports equipment, or protective devices sector.
  • You have a previous experience in coordinating technical teams and external suppliers.
  • You have an excellent knowledge of 3D CAD software : NX (Siemens), CATIA (Dassault Systèmes), and Teamcenter (PLM).
  • You have the knowledge of plastic injection molding, composite materials, and mechanical processing.
  • You are accurate and precise, with a problem‑solving attitude and a result‑oriented approach.
  • You have strong capability analysis and you are able to define the dimension tolerances.
  • You are fluent in speaking English (B2 / C1 level).
  • You have experience with FEM analysis and mechanical simulation is a plus.
  • Experience with Lean Design methodologies is considered a plus.
  • Leadership, ability to motivate and develop the team.
  • You have excellent teamwork (training people capability) and communication skills.
  • Availability for business trips is required.
  • Motorcycle driving license "A" is a plus.
