IC Resources seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer with space industry experience to join our clients engineering team. The role focuses on design and development of mechanical systems for space applications, from concept through manufacture and integration.

You will apply CAD tools, GD&T and high-reliability design principles, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and manufacturers to ensure performance, quality and manufacturability across the full product lifecycle.

Competenze

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in the space industry.
• Experience designing mechanical components and assemblies for space or high-reliability applications.
• Strong understanding of design principles, materials, manufacturing processes and DFx/design for manufacture.
• Experience using CAD and analysis tools such as CREO, NX, SolidWorks, ANSYS or equivalent.
• Ability to produce detailed engineering drawings and apply GD&T/precision tolerancing.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and development of mechanical systems for space applications, working within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary engineering environment

You will be involved in the development of mechanical designs from concept through to

manufacture and integration, ensuring that designs meet technical, performance and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for space applications.
• Produce detailed CAD models, engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Perform and support mechanical, structural and thermal analysis to validate designs.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop and optimise design solutions.
• Support design reviews, testing, integration and qualification activities.
• Liaise with manufacturers to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet quality requirements.
• Support design iterations, problem-solving and continuous improvement throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Contribute to the delivery of engineering projects within agreed timescales and technical requirements.
