A leading engineering firm in Milan is seeking a Materials Buyer responsible for purchasing activities. The ideal candidate should have a diploma or degree in civil engineering, 3-5 years experience in technical materials buying, and fluency in English. This role includes negotiation, support during supply issues, and potential travel in Italy and abroad.

Competenze

• 3-5 years experience in buying technical materials in engineering company or building equipment and systems.
• Design experience in engineering departments is appreciated.
• Availability to travel in Italy and abroad.

Mansioni

• Preparation of bidder lists.
• Commercial tabulation of supplier offers.
• Economic and contractual negotiation of orders and associated purchasing terms and conditions.
• Issuance of Purchase Orders and any revisions.
• Support and cooperation with the Project Procurement Manager during supply issues.

Overview

The Materials Buyer is responsible of the purchasing activities of assigned Purchase Requisitions in compliance with Corporate and Project Procedures and under the supervision of the Purchasing Group Leader.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of bidder lists


• Commercial tabulation of supplier offers


• Economic and contractual negotiation of orders and associated purchasing terms and conditions


• Issuance of Purchase Orders and any revisions


• Support and cooperation with the Project Procurement Manager / Coordinator during the development of the supplies in case of any commercial problem with Vendors (such as claims, change order requests, Liquidated Damages discussion, etc.)

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in technical discipline (civil engineering)


• 3/5 years experience in buying technical materials in engineering company or building equipment and systems


• Design experience in engineering departments is appreciated


• SAP knowledge for supplies management


• Fluent English speaker and writer


• Availability to travel in Italy and abroad
