What You’ll Own
As a
Mass Communications Technician III, you’ll be responsible for the installation and troubleshooting of low‑voltage systems that enable safe and connected environments for schools, hospitals, and government facilities. You’ll work hands‑on with intercom, access control, and IP camera systems—helping bring Lockstep’s solutions to life.
- Complete onsite installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of communications systems
- Maintain accurate inventory and ensure all required materials are ready for deployment
- Load/unload equipment deliveries and stage materials for daily work
- Keep up to date with product updates, applications, and tools
- Communicate project progress clearly to the lead technician or project manager
- Identify, resolve, or elevate issues quickly to minimize downtime
- Collaborate with teammates to ensure quality and timely installations
- Follow all safety protocols and represent Lockstep professionally onsite
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience working with low‑voltage systems
- Proficiency using power tools (impact and hammer drills)
- Intermediate knowledge of access control, cameras, intercom, and paging systems
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently
- Flexibility to work variable schedules (afternoons, evenings, early mornings)
- Ability to travel overnight 2–4 days at a time (approx. 55%)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
- Degree or certification in a technical field
- Experience with structured cabling infrastructure
- Advanced vendor certifications (e.g., 3rd/final tier)
- PMP, Six Sigma, or equivalent professional certifications
