Our Shockwave Medical portfolio aims to establish a new standard of care for medical device treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease through its differentiated and proprietary local delivery of sonic pressure waves for the treatment of calcified plaque.

Position Overview

As Director of Marketing for the South Region, you will lead the commercial strategy and drive sustainable growth for Johnson & Johnson MedTech across Iberia and Italy. You will define and execute the regional marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with global objectives while adapting to diverse healthcare, regulatory, and reimbursement landscapes. This role demands strategic vision, cross‑functional leadership, and experience managing complex, multi‑country organizations. You will collaborate with regional and global teams to accelerate market penetration, product adoption, and patient access, while representing the J&J brand and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders across the region. This position reports to the Senior Director of Sales, South Region, with a dotted line to the Global Marketing Senior Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the South Region marketing strategy in alignment with global objectives and local market needs.
  • Regional Growth: Drive commercial success by tailoring global marketing programs to Iberia and Italy, accounting for market maturity and regulatory landscapes.
  • Market Access & Reimbursement: Partner with regional leadership, health economics, and reimbursement teams to secure and optimize market access for all MedTech solutions.
  • Product Launch Excellence: Lead and oversee regional product launches, ensuring flawless execution from pre‑launch planning through post‑launch performance monitoring.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Build strong partnerships with Sales, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure business objectives are achieved.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and maintain relationships with KOLs, clinical societies, patient associations, and healthcare providers, positioning J&J MedTech as a trusted partner.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activity, healthcare system trends, and policy developments to anticipate challenges and identify opportunities.
  • Budget Ownership: Manage and optimize the South Region marketing budget, ensuring effective resource allocation across countries.
  • People Leadership: Recruit, lead, and develop a high‑performing regional marketing team as the organization scales across new markets.
  • Compliance & Ethics: Ensure all marketing activities adhere to J&J standards, compliance requirements, and applicable regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Life Sciences, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10–12+ years in marketing within MedTech, medical devices, or healthcare, including 3–5 years in senior leadership roles.
  • Proven success in developing and executing marketing strategies across multiple European markets.
  • Strong understandings of local healthcare systems and reimbursement environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead diverse, international teams.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, influencing, and cross‑functional collaboration skills; strong analytical and strategic mindset with data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Fluency in English required; fluency in Italian and/or Spanish is highly valued.
  • Willingness to travel across the South Region and internationally (approx. 30–40%).
