Actalent is currently hiring multiple manufacturing engineers for a premier client of ours in the Ottawa, IL area. We are ideally looking for individuals with experience working in a robotic, assembly or machining environment.

Role Overview

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll design and develop advanced hydraulic systems that meet stringent standards for pressure, flow, safety, and quality. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams to bring innovative ideas to life and ensure exceptional product performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and optimize hydraulic systems for new and existing products.
  • Analyze system performance to meet pressure, flow, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Partner with suppliers to define product and component specifications.
  • Develop project plans in collaboration with engineering, marketing, and production teams.
  • Coordinate implementation with production, service, and engineering teams.
  • Prepare and review engineering change packages for accuracy and completeness.
  • Utilize CAD tools and office software for design and documentation.
  • Monitor project progress and report to stakeholders.
  • Support cost‑reduction initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Evaluate product performance and customer satisfaction, including occasional field visits and trade show participation.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in design and/or engineering.
  • Expertise in mobile equipment, project management, and engineering processes.
  • Proficiency in 2D schematics; AutoCAD experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and general computer literacy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Hands‑on troubleshooting experience with complex hydraulic systems.
  • Skilled in component selection and full system design.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Streator, IL.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $55.00/hr.
