Obsolete Site in Vicenza, Italy seeks a general maintenance worker to assist with interior and exterior upkeep, painting walls, plumbing fixes, and basic carpentry. You may assist in moving furniture and maintain outdoor areas as needed.

The role requires the ability to lift 40–80 pounds, stand, bend, reach, and work rotating shifts including nights and weekends. Training and compliance with background checks are required. ${REPLACEME}

Duties

• Assists in the maintenance and repair of building interiors. Patches and paints walls, replaces faucet washers, light bulbs and fuses.
• Un-stops sinks and toilet bowls. Hangs electrical fixtures and repairs screens and storm sashes. Makes minor repairs to furniture and woodwork.
• May occasionally assist in moving furniture or refinishing the appearance.
• Assists in the maintenance and repair of building exteriors. Prepares surfaces for painting by applying sealing compounds and primers.
• Assists in the maintenance and repair of the grounds. Cuts grass, plants, trims hedges, trees and shrubbery. Dumps trash, waters plants and sweeps walkways, and may be required to shovel snow.

• Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
• A one-year probationary period may be required.
• Must be willing and able to perform work while standing, bending, reaching, stretching, climbing and stooping.
• Must be willing and able to carry equipment, tools and supplies weighing from 40 to 80 pounds
• Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts to include nights and weekends.

A Qualified Candidate Must Possess The Following

• Have knowledge of wood working techniques and basic shop mathematics. (ex: add, subtract, multiply, etc...)

• The ability to read and follow basic blueprints and sketches.
• Know how to prepare standard surfaces for coating methods and techniques.
• The ability to operate a motor vehicle, can you operate a vehicle in a safe manner.
• The ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

• The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is within the local commuting area. The local commuting area defined as within 100 km (60 miles) of Vicenza, Italy. Allowances and Differentials

• This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week - whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
