Would you like to work at the largest Fulfillment Center (FC) in the Southern Hemisphere and first Amazon Robotics Site in Australia?

Amazon is seeking Maintenance Technicians to join our Reliability, Maintenance & Engineering (RME) team. This is a full-time hourly role based on day/night shift patterns, including work during weekends.

The focus of the Maintenance Technician role is to ensure safety regulations and policies are adhered to, to ensure preventative maintenance is conducted on time to a high standard and to provide high levels of equipment availability through continuous improvement.

Key job responsibilities
  • Put health & safety best practices first in all work carried out, including Lock-out Tag-out.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on the full range of equipment within the site e.g. Conveyors and PLCs.
  • React quickly to breakdowns, communicate clearly with affected parties and work efficiently to fix the issue.
  • Support continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and sending feedback and suggestions for improvements through the line manager.
  • Provide high levels of equipment availability to our internal customers.
  • Support and learn from Senior Maintenance Technicians.
About the team

Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering or RME team keep our equipment performing at its best. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment across our global network. Some of our people are leaders, who oversee the team as they work on exciting technology – some of which only exists at Amazon.

From installing automated packaging systems to overseeing the general maintenance of a site to repairing key distribution equipment, our team handles most aspects of Amazon’s technical side. This includes keeping buildings legally compliant, so everyone is safe, and our sites are operating at maximum efficiency.

Basic Qualifications
  • Formal Trade Qualifications: Certificate III in Electrotechnology with current electrical trade license or Cert III in Engineering OR Mechanical Trade (Fitter/Turner). Alternatively, equivalent trade qualifications formally recognised in Australia.
  • Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems.
  • Experience fault finding within Material Handling Equipment/Automation systems.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical /mechanical drawings.
  • Experience of conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters.
  • Experience of working to appropriate health & safety standards and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with CMMS systems.
  • Experience with sortation machines.
  • Experience with maintaining/configuring bar code scanners.
  • Experience with print and apply machines.
