Lead Robotics Engineer – Join Baker Hughes to drive cutting‑edge automation and robotics solutions in the energy sector.

About the Role

  • Lead research and development projects from concept feasibility (TRL 3) to field demonstration (TRL 6).
  • Act as Systems Engineer, coordinating cross‑functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, sourcing) throughout all project phases.
  • Manage program execution – planning, resource allocation, budgeting, and business case development.
  • Conduct HSE (Health, Safety & Environmental) assessments during testing, production, and industrialization phases.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and sourcing teams to identify process improvement opportunities and scout new suppliers.
  • Define a 10‑year strategic automation and robotics roadmap.
  • Communicate key achievements and milestones to senior leadership.
  • Serve as a reference point for advanced manufacturing technologies across the organization.
  • Foster collaboration with universities and research centers for low‑TRL research and manage both technical and project execution aspects.
  • Perform technology scouting and build a strategic supplier network for future initiatives.
  • Draft detailed technical specifications, align vendors on requirements, and lead technical and economic evaluations.
  • Oversee the execution of industrialized solutions – design reviews, site acceptance tests (SAT), and final acceptance tests (FAT).
  • Manage lab equipment – scheduled maintenance and procurement of new tools and instruments.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering (preferably Mechatronics, Automation, Electronics, or related fields).
  • Proven experience in technical leading roles within automation and robotics.
  • Strong project management, systems engineering, and supplier coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Solid understanding of HSE standards and lab operations.
