Makino is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join its Project Engineering team and deliver automated machining systems for customers. You will lead design and execution of automation that integrates Makino machining centers with robotics and material handling solutions.

This role requires hands‑on problem solving, collaboration across engineering, suppliers, and customers, and a proactive approach to cost‑effective engineering improvements and project delivery.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent technical experience.
• 7+ years of mechanical design experience, including automation systems.
• Strong experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
• Background in designing machinery, automation systems, or robotic integration.
• Knowledge of pneumatic systems, mechanical components, and system design.
• Familiarity with OSHA, ANSI, ISO, CE, RIA standards.

Mansioni

• Lead the design and execution of automation systems that integrate Makino machining centers with robotics and material handling solutions.
• Design automation equipment such as end‑of‑arm tooling, conveyors, safety systems, and system layouts.
• Perform mechanical analysis (tolerance stack‑ups, stress, deflection, etc.).
• Conduct robot reach studies and support system layout development.
• Partner with internal engineering teams, suppliers, and customers from concept through final system acceptance.
• Support fabrication, assembly, and troubleshooting of automated systems.
• Lead design reviews and contribute to project cost estimates and proposals.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide practical, cost‑effective solutions.
• Stay current on emerging automation technologies and recommend design improvements.
