Offer Description

The research will focus on developing and optimizing laser processes for advanced battery manufacturing, including welding of battery cell connections and cutting and structuring of lithium metal foils. Activities will include experimental investigations, morphological and mechanical characterization, and identification of process windows, addressing quality, stability and scalability. For laser structuring, a predictive model will be developed to determine the optimal shape and spatial distribution of surface structures as coating characteristics vary. The processes and model will be experimentally validated, assessing their suitability for industrial implementation and their contribution to reliable and scalable manufacturing of next-generation batteries with improved production efficiency.
