Job Description
RARE DISEASES KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER
- The position reports to the National First Line Manager.
- It is based in Italy – field (Rome remote).
- Geographical scope: Lombardia (Transplant and Gaucher/Hunter Line).
Role Objective
Implement the Rare Business Unit plan within your territory, consistently with Business Unit objectives, guidelines and local regulations. Drive commercial execution with a focus on specialists in the field.
Accountabilities
- Deeply understand therapeutic areas, competitors, and field characteristics.
- Schedule business activities consistently with BU objectives, prepare and record interviews/meetings.
- Provide daily/monthly reports to the line manager and negotiate action plans to drive BU results.
- Implement promotional activities within budget constraints.
- Develop relationships and partnerships with Key Opinion Leaders locally and nationally.
- Develop and sustain relationships with medical institutions, societies, and academic centres.
- Ensure ethical and high‑level scientific exchange with physicians and KOLs.
- Comply with Compliance Guidelines, Code of Conduct and Promotional Practices.
- Liaise with the Rare Diseases team to provide marketplace intelligence.
- Define account plans from analysis to tactics, setting clear priorities and SMART goals.
- Drive scientific engagement with healthcare professionals through traditional and digital channels.
Skills and Capabilities
Education
- Scientific University Degree according to art. 122 of D.Lgs. 219/2006 or prior employment as Medical Rep before 6 July 2006.
- Good written and spoken English (at least B2).
Experience
- Solid experience promoting pharmaceutical products requiring detailed clinical explanation.
- Experience in Rare Diseases or complex contests is a plus; knowledge of local KOLs preferred.

- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Strong presentation skills with PowerPoint proficiency.
- Quick assimilation of technical, clinical, and statistical information.
- Knowledge of disease management based on international guidelines and local protocols.
- Digital fluency and ability to use AI tools for efficiency.
- Project management skills using core principles and tools.
- Adaptability to change and high interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Italian healthcare systems.
- Self‑independent, autonomous, and motivated.
- Highest ethical standards and passion for the role.

- Leverage AI tools for customer engagement, data analysis, forecasting, and segmentation.
- Comfort with emerging technologies and adaptability.
- Experience with AI‑enabled forecasting tools such as TODAI.
- Use digital platforms for personalized training and learning.
- CRM workflow familiarity and automation tools.
- Open to integrating AI agents for routine tasks while maintaining human‑centred relationships.
Physical Demands
- Ability to drive or fly to attend meetings, audits, and training.
Travel Requirements
- Willingness to travel and possession of a valid clean driver’s license.
Residence
- Lombardia (preferred Milan).
