Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a seasoned Project Manager in Italy to lead cost, schedule and budget control across real estate, infrastructure and life sciences projects. You will coordinate general contractors, vendors and consultants, approve cost-loaded schedules, and advocate for the client during disputes, ensuring timely close-out and warranties.

The role requires a civil engineering degree and proven leadership in multidisciplinary teams, with fluency in English and Italian.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proven PM experience in Life Sciences, high-tech facilities, or logistics construction.
• Strong Excel, reporting and presentation capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall project cost, schedule, and budgets with tracking of milestones.
• Oversee General Contractor, vendors, and consultants throughout lifecycle.
• Review cost proposals, pricing, scopes, and cost-loaded schedules.
• Approve expenditures, monitor changes, and support client disputes or changes.
• Lead client meetings and advocate for client interests.
• Monitor factors influencing costs and support engineering decisions.
• Coordinate scheduling reviews to meet project timelines.
• Ensure smooth transfer of building operations and close-out documentation.
• Validate cost estimates prepared by contractors.
• Record potential claims and act on behalf of the client.

Job Description

• Manage overall project cost, schedule, and budgets, including analysis and tracking of critical milestone activities.
• Oversee and coordinate General Contractor, vendors, and consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review and approve construction proposals, pricing, scopes, and cost-loaded schedules.
• Assess work-in-place, approve capital expenditure spends, and review requests for payment.
• Lead client meetings and advocate on behalf of the client during disputes, modifications, or change orders.
• Monitor and report on factors influencing construction costs, supporting engineering decisions relating to project cost and budget.
• Coordinate and oversee scheduling consultant reviews, ensuring equipment meets project timelines.
• Manage the transfer of building operations to the client, including close-out documentation and warranties.
• Review and validate cost estimates prepared by contractors and within the client's organisation.
• Identify and record occurrences that might result in claims, acting on the client's behalf.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or similar
• Proven experience as a Project Manager in Life Sciences, High Tech facility, or Logistics construction
• Advanced skills in spreadsheets, report writing, and presentations
• Strong communication and organizational skills with ability to multi-task
• Self-motivated team player with entrepreneurial thinking and creativity
• Experience in managing teams, delivering commissions, and business development
• Fluent in English and Italian
