A global technology company in Pistoia is seeking a Junior Mechanical Integration Engineer to perform 3D mechanical integration analysis and manage mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical engineering degree, strong teamwork skills, and proficiency in 3D CAD software such as Creo or Catia. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to innovative railway solutions.

Competenze

  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English, at least international B2 level.
  • Capability to work with fast‑changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations for rail vehicle design.

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Junior Mechanical Integration Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate performs a wide range of tasks within the Engineering Department. The position is based in PISTOIA, Italy.

Accountabilities
  • Carry out 3D mechanical integration analysis of all train components with creation of dedicated reports
  • Manage and develop mechanical systems through the SRD, supplier onboarding, and codesign process
  • Manage the full train digital mock in 3D CAD software
  • Develop tolerance stack‑up analysis and management plan to guarantee correct component mechanical integration on the train
  • Create full train assembly drawings for train manufacturing
  • Design mechanical components such as welded frames or brackets for overall systems integration
Competencies (optional)
  • 3D CAD software knowledge, especially Creo, Catia, and Autodesk
  • Knowledge of DOORS for requirement management
  • Knowledge of main office automation software/tools (Word, Excel, etc.)
Required Skills / Knowledge
  • Autonomous ability to deliver short‑term results
  • Capability to work with fast‑changing priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Strong team‑working attitude and ability to collaborate with international colleagues and senior design experts
Desired Skills / Knowledge
  • General knowledge of railway vehicle working principles
  • Passion for the railway industry
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations for rail vehicle design
  • Knowledge of engineering processes and railway operations
  • Availability for short‑term national and international business trips is preferred
Education / Qualifications
  • Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent technical background
Languages
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English, at least international B2 level
