Overview

illycaffè is an Italian company founded in Trieste in 1933 with the mission to offer the best coffee to the world. We are looking for a Junior Information Technology Data Engineer to join our Information Technology Department.

We are looking for a Data Engineer profile to join our growing IT team, who will support the expansion and optimisation of our data architecture and data pipeline, as well as the optimisation of data flow and data collection for cross functional teams.

What will you do

• Build, maintain and optimize data pipelines for extracting, transforming and loading (ETL) data from various sources
• Design and implement scalable data architectures, data models and databases to support business analysis and reporting needs
• Integrate data from various internal and external sources and ensure data quality and consistency across systems
• Implement data validation controls, data quality metrics and maintain data governance practices to ensure data accuracy and security
• Work with large-scale data processing frameworks and other distributed systems to manage big data workloads
• Leverage cloud-based data solutions and infrastructure for data storage, processing and analysis
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and ensure data infrastructure aligns with business objectives
• Ensure that data engineering practices comply with the organisation\'s privacy laws and security policies
• Participate in the testing stages from design, execution, integration and acceptance, providing adequate business process knowledge

Requirements

• Bachelor\'s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Mathematic or related field
• 1 year of experience as IT data engineering, preferably in environments with production plants
• Experience with ETL tools, SQL, Python, or other programming languages used for data processing, and knowledge of data pipeline orchestration tools
• Experience with big data tools and platforms, proficiency in distributed computing concepts, and knowledge of cloud data services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), cloud-native data tools (e.g., AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory), and serverless computing
• Fluent English
