A technology consulting firm is seeking a Mid-Senior level Software Engineer to join their remote team. The role involves developing backend software, designing GeoServer features, and engaging in bug fixes. Ideal candidates will have over 3 years of experience in software development, strong knowledge of Java and Spring Framework, and fluency in English. Candidates should be comfortable working remotely within the GMT to GMT+2 time zone. We prefer individuals who are adaptable and have a collaborative attitude.

About the job

We are looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our core products international software development team.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product leads and designers to develop reliable and well tested backend software
• Design and implementation of new GeoServer/GeoTools features
• Performance of day-by-day bug fixing
• 3+ years of experience
• Good knowledge of Java Enterprise
• Good Knowledge of Spring Framework
• Good knowledge of relational databases, PostgreSQL is a must, Oracle a plus
• Ability to adapt and learn new skills quickly
• Being fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in designing and implementing scalable systems for highly concurrent loads
• Knowledge of distributed systems and related key technologies is a plus (e.g. Kafka)
• Knowledge of GeoServer and GeoTools is a plus
• You are comfortable working independently, while functioning as part of a dynamic team that values collaboration, dialogue, development, learning, and growth.
• You care about solving big, systemic problems. You look beyond the surface to understand root causes so that you can build long-term solutions for the whole ecosystem.
• You are a person open to developing new ideas and contributing expertise, who enjoys challenges, seeks knowledge, and are a team builder.
• You can analyze product requirements, manage tasks and partner with your teammates to meet the deadlines.

We offer a variety of contracts but, please, note that our intention is to establish a long-term relationship. We are a remote first company, however the ideal candidate should work from a time zone between GMT and GMT+2.

Relocation is not requested and as such we are not envisioning any relocation support package.
