A leading software company is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join their international development team. In this role, you will develop reliable backend software and design new features using GeoServer and GeoTools. Ideal candidates will have strong expertise in Java, Spring, and relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL. The position is remote-first, targeting candidates in GMT to GMT+2 time zones, with a focus on building long-term relationships.

About the job

We are looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our core products international software development team.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product leads and designers to develop reliable and well tested backend software
• Design and implementation of new GeoServer / GeoTools features
• Performance of day-by-day bug fixing

Minimum qualifications

• 3+ years of experience
• Good knowledge of Java Enterprise
• Good Knowledge of Spring Framework
• Good knowledge of relational databases, PostgreSQL is a must, Oracle a plus
• Ability to adapt and learn new skills quickly
• Being fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in designing and implementing scalable systems for highly concurrent loads
• Knowledge of distributed systems and related key technologies is a plus (e.g. Kafka)
• Knowledge of GeoServer and GeoTools is a plus

We offer a variety of contracts but, please, note that our intention is to establish a long-term relationship. We are a remote first company, however the ideal candidate should work from a time zone between GMT and GMT+2.

Relocation is not requested and as such we are not envisioning any relocation support package.
