American Express is seeking a Senior Manager for the Italy Chief Risk Officer, Financial Risk Management role to lead second line risk governance for the Italian market. The position focuses on establishing RAF-aligned risk frameworks, supervising a Financial Risk analyst, and partnering with LE and Enterprise teams to strengthen risk oversight.

Fluency in English and Italian is required, with a strong regulatory understanding of the Italian landscape.

Competenze

• 5+ years of leadership experience in risk management or a similar role.
• Strong business acumen with a risk-reward control perspective.
• Experience interacting with regulators and familiarity with Italian regulatory landscape and requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple priorities under pressure.
• Fluency in both English and Italian (verbal and written).
• Advanced degree in business, economics, engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Mansioni

• Participate in Risk Appetite Framework (RAF) refresh process and align International Legal Entities (ILE) Financial Risk metrics with Enterprise where possible.
• Provide Financial Risk credible challenge to LE projects, strategies and in Change Advisory Forums.
• Understand and speak to the Financial Risk profile of the LE based on data and reporting.
• Act as main point of contact for Financial Risk for LE regulator, Audit and ILE Leadership, and requests for Financial Risk program/results.
• LE-specific committee Financial Risk representative, and point of contact for Financial Risk at LE board meetings (as required).
• Own ILE Financial Risk policies and frameworks, where required.
• Influence Enterprise Financial Risk e Framework/Policies/Programs to ensure fit for purpose for ILE, and support ILE deployment of Enterprise Financial Risk programs.
• Advise business on applicability and effective execution of Financial Risk frameworks.
• Coordinate with enterprise Risk Lead on 2nd Line testing, and/or support ILE Financial Risk testing & provide output of ILE testing to Enterprise for awareness and risk aggregation.
• Ensure appropriate communication of risks between ILE and Enterprise.
• Support the ILE Chief Risk Officer (CRO) in their oversight duties aligned to the Risk Governance Framework and applicable polices.
• Reviewing Issues and findings related to risk type impacting ILE, and overseeing effective remediation.
• 2nd Line of Defense ILE oversight lead for Regulatory Change Managements relating to Risk Type.
• Work with Enterprise team to develop LE metrics dashboard, including RAF metrics, aligned with applicable regs.
• Review, approve and challenge applicable models impacting the ILE.
• Lead a Financial Risk analyst.
