Jobgether SRL, based in Italy, is seeking an Applied ML Engineer to work at the intersection of machine learning research, experimentation, and production engineering. You will turn ideas from research papers into rigorous experiments and reliable products, spanning model evaluation, internals, inference infrastructure, backend systems, and user-facing experiences.

You will work hands-on with modern ML models, design evaluations, and build production-grade tooling that makes complex experiments

Competenze

• Strong Python engineering skills with hands-on PyTorch experience.
• Solid ML evaluation knowledge: datasets, baselines, metrics, calibration and reproducibility.
• Professional software engineering beyond notebooks: APIs, async jobs, databases, logging, testing, deployment, docs.
• Familiarity with open-weight models and practical understanding of LLM inference systems.

Mansioni

• Reproduce and evaluate ML research methods using open-weight models and APIs.
• Design evaluation datasets, probes, scoring, baselines, calibration tests, and experiment harnesses.
• Work with model weights, logits, hidden states, and inference infrastructure as needed.
• Build and extend evaluation infrastructure, including runners, persistence, orchestration, reporting and reproducibility.
• Translate research workflows into product experiences: experiment config, execution, traces, reports and reviews.
• Investigate verification methods under model modifications like fine-tuning, merging, quantization or distillation.
• Design controlled experiments to distinguish signal from artifacts and confounds.
• Produce clear technical reports separating evidence from interpretation or hypotheses.
• Deliver production-grade systems with APIs, jobs, databases, observability, tests and docs.
• Contribute across research, experimentation, engineering and product priorities.
• Within six months reproduce and document a model-provenance or verification method and its limitations.
• Build a repeatable model-verification runner with versioned inputs, artifacts and reports accessible via the product.
