Job : IT Solution Architect

Mission

Within the Enterprise Architecture department, the IT Solution Architect participates during the design and build phases of projects in order to guarantee the global consistency of the enterprise IT technical architecture.

The Technical Solution Architect’s role is to design solutions that satisfy the business needs, whilst assessing the impacts upon current systems architecture and working with the IT & Security directorate to ensure compliance with IT standards, norms and rules.

We are looking for a IT Solution Architect to join our Network & Security squad and implement technical architecture designs that will improve our organization’s network & infrastructure, and ultimately support upcoming business & IT transformations.

Responsibilities

1. Guarantee consistency of technical architecture. Ensure compliance with the enterprise architecture methodology, design principles & rules, and relevant IT standards & norms. Promote reuse of architecture components & patterns, favoring cost-efficient & sustainable designs. Advocate technical design choices to ensure coherence across all Thales Alenia Space countries. Contribute to knowledge sharing through modeling, documentation, and training. Maintain and update architecture principles & rules. Participate actively in architecture governance processes.
2. Advise on technical architectures & solutions. Design One-TAS technical architectures for business projects or change requests. Analyze impacts and coherence with existing architecture. Propose solutions respecting contextual constraints. Inform stakeholders of issues. Collaborate with IT & Security teams to ensure performance, adaptability & interoperability. Facilitate architecture design, risk assessment, and security validation. Support implementation phases and verify before production deployment.
3. Research emerging technologies. Identify & propose opportunities for benefits or issue resolution using new architectures or technologies. Participate in proof of concepts.

Technical skills

The IT Solution Architect specializes in the following domains:

1. Infrastructure: Storage (DAS/NAS/SAN/HCI/SDS), Backup/DRP, Servers & Platforms, Virtualization (VMware), Big Data Infrastructure, Data Center Architecture.
2. Storage: Mass Storage Units, Data structuration, SAN technologies, Deduplication, Object Storage, vendor skills (Dell/EMC, HPE, Brocade, Nutanix, VMware).
3. Backup/DRP: Physical & Virtual servers, Data archiving, Data retention, Tape technologies, Disaster Recovery planning, vendor skills (Atempo, Veeam, Avamar).
4. Servers & Platforms: Dell/EMC, HPE, SAN interfaces, Virtualization with VMware.
5. Big Data: Docker, Kubernetes, network overlays, storage impact, related tools (Rancher, Ansible, Terraform, ElasticSearch).
6. Data Center: Energy & thermal constraints, electrical power, equipment placement, architecture documentation.

Desired certifications

• TOGAF, VMware (VCPs), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, AWS, Cisco CCNP.

Managerial & behavioral skills

• Excellent communication, relationship-building, problem-solving, organizational & leadership skills. Ability to address technical issues and ensure architecture implementation.

Languages

• Italian, English (mandatory for documentation and meetings), French (nice to have).

Experience

• Minimum 5 years as a Senior Architect.
