A leading maritime terminal company is seeking an IT Analyst (Hardware) for its Expansion Project in Trieste. The role involves planning and integrating IT systems for state-of-the-art terminal operations. Candidates should have 3+ years of IT management experience, a degree in IT, and preferably experience in the port industry. Proficiency in English is required, and knowledge of Italian and/or German is a plus. Relocation to Trieste is expected. Overview

HHLA PLT Italy is a multipurpose maritime terminal started in 2021, located in the middle of the fast-growing North Adriatic market.

Here, the Expansion Project Team, carried out by Logistica Giuliana, a subsidiary of HHLA PLT Italy, is planning and executing a game changer phased project aiming to integrate the current facility into a state-of-the-art intermodal container and RoRo terminal, making use of the most advanced technologies and expertise, aiming at flawless operations being best in class regarding work safety.

As part of our Expansion Project, the IT Analyst (Hardware) will take part in the planning, specification, and seamless integration of IT systems and infrastructure for our future maritime terminal. He/she will play a crucial role in managing IT systems infrastructure, ensuring smooth implementation across different phases.

What you can expect
  • Specify functional, technical and other requirements for the Expansion IT system landscape.
  • Collaborate around interfaces and integration requirements for the Expansion IT system landscape.
  • Specify infrastructure requirements for the network, communication and data center with a focus on scalability
  • Collaborate in the definition of process landscapes, process flows, use cases including variations and exceptions in the context of the project.
  • Assist in IT project planning, test planning, integration tests and go-live of the different IT systems
  • Act as part of the IT project management team
What you bring to the table

We’re looking for an accurate and process minded individual who can engage with the different project stakeholders. Experience is required in the specification and management of IT systems in a production environment, preferably in the port and terminal business.

The IT Analyst would have a high sense of responsibility as the role is vital to support the IT project management in the successful implementation of an automated Container Terminal in the Port of Trieste.

  • Good English (Italian and/or German are a plus)
  • Experience in IT management/IT development and specification ( 3+ years)
  • Experience within networking and data communication
  • Experience/understanding of Port and Terminal processes and IT systems
  • Ability to work in an international team of port-related IT experts
  • Good communicator and able to maintain a growing role
  • Process & logic driven mentality, deep understanding of IT methodologies
  • Degree in IT or related

The ideal candidate would have a valid EU working permit and would be willing to relocate to Trieste in short notice.
