Amazon’s International Design & Construction team seeks a Geotechnical Manager to lead geotechnical studies for our European facilities. You will review phase 1 studies, coordinate external experts, and support site feasibility and selection from a geotechnical perspective.

You will collaborate with international design teams and cost teams to optimize foundations and construction, while building internal geotechnical capabilities and managing pre-construction work products.

Competenze

• Fluent English at C1 level or above.
• University degree in Civil Engineering with geotechnical expertise.
• Proven experience in development and implementation of logistics, industrial or residential projects.
• Extensive construction design and permitting management, ideally in international environments.

We require a Geotechnical Manager with previous experience in geotechnical studies and assessments for industrial or commercial developments.

The Geotechnical Manager will join the International Design and Construction team and play an integral role in the development and implementation of the International network focusing primarily on our delivery stations. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing geotechnical expertise relevant for new facilities. You would focus on reviewing phase 1 geotechnical studies in early project stages, and obtain additional external expertise for specific cases. You would support on early site feasibility reviews and support the site selection process from a geotechnical standpoint, and work with the cost team to establish cost options. Further, you would work to optimize foundation and construction design in close collaboration with the (external) design teams and geotechnical consultancies internationally. You would help to establish geotechnical expertise internally, also by selecting and contracting external consultancy support. In addition, you will support standardization of the technical and facility related processes and systems. And there is always the chance to get involved into any other construction related topic in our team.

Relevant construction engineering, design, and project management experience are essential for the role.

The role could be based in Italy or Spain with 50% of time traveling either domestically and Internationally.

The applicable collective agreement for this role is for employees of Logistics, Delivery and Shipping Sector . The position is classified at level 1 or above, depending on the candidate's skills, competences and experience.

Basic Qualifications

• Speak, write, and read fluently in English at C1 level or above
• University Degree, B.S. or Master in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical expertise
• Proven experience in development and implementation of logistics, industrial or residential projects
• Extensive construction design and permitting management or creation experience, ideally in international environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Work experience within field execution, i.e. with General Contractors
• Strong leadership experience in medium or large construction program management
• French, German, Polish, Arabic, Portuguese, Turkish, Chinese (Mandarin), Afrikaans and Zulu are considered preferred qualifications.

The minimum gross base salary for this position is listed below. The base salary listed corresponds to working on a full-time basis. For part-time hours, the salary will be pro-rated.

Amazon reserves the right to offer a higher salary and/or level, depending on the candidate's skills, competencies, and experience. Amazon's package may include a sign on payment. In addition, the candidate may be eligible to participate in a restricted stock unit scheme operated independently by Amazon.com Inc. in USA.

Your recruiting team will share final salary and any restricted stock unit scheme if applicable, depending on skills and requirements.

In addition to statutory benefits, and those applicable to the relevant CBA, company supplementary benefits may apply subject to further terms.
