Position Overview

RINA is currently recruiting for an Infrastructure Certification Technical Manager to join its office in Genoa or Rozzano, Italy within the Transport & Infrastructure Certification Division.

RINA is currently recruiting for a Technical Manager to join its office within the Inspection body Rina Check S.r.l..

The Technical Manager ensures the successful technical inspection of complex, high‑value projects, emphasizing the quality and compliance of all technical deliverables. This pivotal role integrates multidisciplinary technical input, guaranteeing that all inspection requirements comply with safety and industry standards. The Technical Manager oversees technical inspections and collaborates with internal and external technicians to meet client expectations.

Key Accountabilities
  • Achieve technical performance goals for the provided service.
  • Approve all technical regulations and internal technical documents (technician instructions, forms, etc.).
  • Maintain and manage external documentation (laws, circulars, Ministerial Decrees, standards), ensuring it is up‑to‑date and accessible to relevant personnel.
  • Select and train personnel for service provision by maintaining the qualification process.
  • Identify technical skills and related training needs by participating in the personnel selection process, preparing training plans and courses, and approving qualifications issued to personnel.
  • Verify and approve the qualification process (issuing, updating) of internal or non‑exclusive technicians prepared by the PM.
  • Review requests, offers, and orders from a technical perspective when needed.
  • Approve the Coordinator and the Working Group based on the PM's proposal.
  • Approve issued inspection reports by reviewing the work performed by the Working Team (documentation attached to the inspection report).
  • Monitor the service provided to ensure compliance with the Quality Management System documents, manage audit findings, identify causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Analyze non‑compliant services, communicate findings to the Management Representative for Quality, and propose corrective or improvement actions.
Education

Master’s Degree in Transport Engineering or Professional Certificate in Civil Engineering.

Qualifications

Civil Engineer with proven experience (at least 10 years) in road transport and tunnel safety, particularly in risk assessment for road tunnel projects. The selected candidate will handle certification and validation of safety documentation, ensuring compliance with minimum safety standards and the implementation of necessary safety measures before commissioning.

In‑depth knowledge of:

  • Italian Legislative Decree 264/2006;
  • Guidelines issued by the Permanent Commission for Tunnels “Contents and presentation methods of safety documentation, with particular reference to risk analysis” (published on March 4, 2025).

Fluent in English and Italian.
