Università degli Studi di Verona seeks researchers to study and model multimodal interaction using generative AI tools, with a focus on intelligent worker assistance across manufacturing, fashion and design contexts.

The research will develop real-time data fusion, interpret heterogeneous signals, and generate personalized responses, instructions, and feedback in interactive environments such as augmented reality and wearables.

• Master’s Degree in engineering, computer science, or data science (Laurea Magistrale o a ciclo unico) awarded no more than six years before expiry date.
• Possession of a curriculum suitable for assisting in carrying out research activities.
• Knowledge of English.

Offer Description

The activity focuses on the study and modeling of multimodal interaction through generative artificial intelligence tools, with particular emphasis on intelligent worker assistance in advanced manufacturing,fashion and design contexts. The research will investigate the use of generative and multimodal models to interpret heterogeneous data collected from environmental and ewarable sensors, motion and posture capture systems, speech, images and other signals. Techniques will be developed for real-time data fusion and processing, understanding the operational context, and generating personalized responses, instructions and feedback. Interaction may take place through augmented reality, haptic devices and wearable systems. The objective is to develop reliable, adaptive and transparent generative assistant prototypes, building on the expertise of the ICE laboratory at the University of Verona and supporting the transfer of the results to industrial and creative applications.

For admission to the selection process referred to in Art. 1, potential candidates must fulfil the following requirements:

• Master’s Degree in engineering, computer science, or data science [Laurea Magistrale o a ciclo unico awarded pursuant to Art. 3(1n), Ministerial Decree no. 270 of 22/10/04], obtained no more than six years before the expiry date of this call;
• Possession of a curriculum suitable for assisting in carrying out research activities;
• Knowledge of the following foreign language: English.
