The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is an international financial institution dedicated to eradicating rural poverty and hunger. IFAD finances programmes that increase agricultural productivity and raise rural incomes and advocates for policies that contribute to rural transformation.

The Corporate Services Department (CSD) provides human resources, administrative services, safety and security, information technology and medical support required to enable IFAD to meet its objectives.

The Information and Communications Technology Division (ICT) drives transformative change by delivering secure, client-focused, reliable and innovative technology solutions that enhance IFAD’s ability to achieve its mission.

Job Role

The Information Communications Technology Analyst is an entry‑level position that builds expertise in ICT occupations. The Analyst works under the guidance of the ICT Division director and the supervision of an ICT manager or specialist.

The Analyst performs routine and non-routine work with established precedents independently; complex recommendations are developed in consultation with the supervisor or subject matter expert.

Key Functions and Results

1. ICT Business Partner – The Analyst provides verbal and written advice to supervisors and staff on ICT platforms, systems, applications and procedures, facilitating mutual understanding of issues and roles in managing IFAD’s ICT environment.

2. ICT Expert – The Analyst supports the development of an in‑depth knowledge of ICT strategy, principles, standards and systems and provides routine and non‑routine casework across ICT occupations.

3. Agent of Change – The Analyst promotes acceptance of new methods of work and effective communication skills to persuade and influence managers to adopt change.

4. Managerial Functions – The Analyst is accountable for integrity, transparency and equity in the use of assigned IFAD resources.

Responsibilities
  • Secure collection, processing, and analysis of corporate and people data, ensuring access control measures and accurate data modelling.
  • Develop data pipelines, data processing pipelines, and dashboards for workforce analytics and business intelligence.
  • Provide data insights, workforce analytics, and business intelligence tools to support evidence‑based decision‑making.
  • Conduct data cleansing, transformation, and visualization to support HR‑related processes such as workforce planning, recruitment, and staffing demographics.
  • Generate reports and metrics for corporate level stakeholders, including HR, UN, IFI entities, and external partners.
  • Support data quality and security practices, ensuring business continuity for sensitive data.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including UN and IFI partners, to benchmark best practices in data analytics.
Qualifications
Education
  • University degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
Experience

Minimum of two (2) years of progressively relevant experience in data and analytics, with a focus on ICT or related fields.

Desirable experience: data analytics management, BI design, data modelling, ETL processes, SQL, Python, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and knowledge of HR and workforce analytics.

Skills
  • Analytical: Ability to analyse and synthesize qualitative and quantitative information.
  • Data Management: Data collection, cleaning, transformation, consolidation, architecture, and presentation.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • BI Tools: Proficiency with Power BI, Tableau, Oracle BI or similar.
  • Programming: SQL, Python, R, DAX, Power Query.
  • Cloud Services: Experience with Azure, AWS, GCP.
  • Cyber‑Security: Understanding of data protection techniques and access control.
  • Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills.
Key Performance Indicators

Effective maintenance of data integrity, development of analytics solutions, regular corporate reporting, data security management, and system usage monitoring.

Working Relationships

Communicate effectively with supervisors, staff, UN and IFI partners, and client offices to provide data‑driven insights and support ICT operations.
