Job summary

Employer.com is seeking a software developer to build internal and customer-facing applications, prototype ideas, and work close to the infrastructure in a small engineering team. The role blends product work with systems work, using TypeScript/React on the frontend and Scala/Python/Node.js/Go across services on AWS.

The position is on-site with hybrid work flexibility and requires some overlap with our US-based team. The gross annual salary is $30,000 - $50,000 USD.

Qualifications

• Several years building and shipping production web applications end to end.
• Strong programming fundamentals in a modern typed or backend language, and the ability to become productive in a new one quickly.
• Solid frontend skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and experience with a modern component framework (React or equivalent).
• Hands-on experience running applications on AWS or a comparable cloud platform.
• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and infrastructure as code.
• Comfort operating what you build — debugging production issues, reading logs and metrics, and improving reliability over time.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Experience integrating REST APIs and third-party services.
• Git and pull-request-based collaboration.
• Strong analytical skills and clear written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Product & Application Development for web apps and internal tools.
• Build and maintain modern web applications, from UI through API and data layer.
• Develop new product features and improve existing applications.
• Integrate third-party APIs and external services.
• Build internal tools and automations to remove manual work.
• Translate business requirements into reliable software.
• Troubleshoot issues and improve performance and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and raise engineering practices.
• Work with AWS infrastructure across prod and non-prod environments.
• Contribute to infrastructure as code with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• Improve monitoring, logging, and tracing with actionable dashboards.
• Investigate production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Apply least-privilege IAM, security practices, and encryption.
