Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Thermodynamic HVAC Engineer to join the Global Thermal Management R&D organization in Rivarotta, Italy. The role focuses on Drycooler product development, NPDI involvement, and engineering problem solving with a structured, customer-focused approach.

You will collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Validation, Manufacturing, Procurement and Product Management teams to ensure design excellence and on-time product launches, while ensuring compliance with internal

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 4–8 years of experience in HVAC, Dry-coolers, cooling towers or thermal management product development.
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid dynamics.
• Ability to perform component sizing and system-performance calculations.
• Experience analyzing test data and resolving thermal or refrigeration-system issues.
• Working knowledge of technical drawings, product specifications and Bills of Materials.
• Understanding of product development and engineering change-management processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in global, multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluent written and spoken English; Italian language proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support thermodynamic design and development of Drycooler products.
• Perform heat-load, component-sizing, pressure-drop and product-performance calculations.
• Select and evaluate key refrigeration and hydronic components, including heat exchangers and fans.
• Develop and maintain technical specifications, calculation files and performance data.
• Support NPDI programs from concept to product launch.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering and product management.
• Define test requirements, support laboratory testing and analyze results.
