A global energy and industrial group is looking for an experienced HSE Manager to oversee health, safety, and environmental activities across construction sites in Italy. The ideal candidate should have over 5 years of HSE management experience in large industrial projects and strong knowledge of Italian and European HSE legislation. Fluent in both Italian and English, the manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations, conducting training, and performing site audits. This role is essential for driving a strong safety culture within the organization.

Competenze

• 5+ years’ HSE management experience in large industrial, EPC, or energy projects.
• Experience with ISO standards, ESIA documentation, and permitting.
• Ability to influence and drive a strong safety culture.

The Role

The HSE Manager will sit within the Italian organisation and support project execution across the region. You will lead all health, safety, and environmental activities across construction sites, engineering interfaces, and head-office functions, ensuring compliance with European and Italian HSE legislation, international standards, and client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and implementation of project HSE plans (HSE Plans, CEMP, Waste Plans, CPP, etc.)
• Monitor HSE KPIs and submit monthly reports to senior leadership
• Support compliance with ISO standards (45001, 14001, 50001), international guidelines (IFC, EBRD, World Bank) and internal governance
• Provide training and coaching to site teams and contractors
• Coordinate with Project Management and Site HSE Managers to uphold contractual and regulatory HSE requirements
• Conduct site inspections and internal HSE audits, ensuring corrective actions are closed
• Support tendering activities, providing HSE input on bids and client discussions
• Share best practices, drive continuous improvement, and support incident investigations

Requirements

• 5+ years’ HSE management experience in large industrial, EPC, or energy projects
• Strong knowledge of Italian and European HSE legislation
• NEBOSH / equivalent certifications are preferred
• Experience with ISO standards, ESIA documentation, and permitting
• Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management abilities
• Fluent in Italian and English
• Ability to influence, challenge, and drive a strong safety culture
