Overview

Job Title: Hospital Manager – Tuscany

Location: Tuscany

Reports to: Regional Operations Director

Employment Type: Full-time

Position Summary

The Hospital Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and performance of the hospital. This role ensures high-quality medical services, efficient operations, engaged teams, and sustainable financial results. The Hospital Manager works in close partnership with the Medical Director and Leadership Team to deliver excellent patient care and a positive workplace culture, aligned with the values and strategic goals of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic and Operational Leadership: Lead the hospital’s daily operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality of care.
  • Translate corporate and regional strategies into local action plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPI) in service quality, client satisfaction, and financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, local legislation, and healthcare regulations.
  • Financial and Business Management: Own and manage the hospital’s full P&L responsibility.
  • Prepare, monitor, and control annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Optimize resource allocation, cost efficiency, and profitability.
  • Identify growth opportunities and lead business development initiatives (new services, partnerships, technology upgrades).
  • People and Culture: Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team including clinical, technical, and administrative staff.
  • Build a culture of collaboration, engagement, and accountability.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance reviews.
  • Foster open communication, wellbeing, and psychological safety within the team.
  • Medical Partnership: Collaborate closely with the Medical Director to ensure alignment between clinical excellence and operational sustainability.
  • Facilitate cross-functional teamwork and clinical support functions (nursing, diagnostics, surgery, emergency).
  • Ensure proper medical governance, quality audits, and patient safety standards.
  • Client Experience And Reputation: Promote a high-quality and compassionate client experience across all touchpoints.
  • Manage complex cases, feedback, and complaints in a constructive, empathetic way.
  • Represent the hospital externally with partners, institutions, universities, and community stakeholders.
  • Compliance, Safety, and Sustainability: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Oversee audits, risk assessments, and emergency preparedness.
  • Support the organization’s sustainability goals and ethical standards.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare/Veterinary Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a healthcare, veterinary, or service organization of comparable complexity.
  • Proven track record in managing budgets, leading teams, and driving performance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, empathy, and conflict management abilities.
  • Fluent in Italian and English.
