Job Purpose
  • The selected candidate will support design development starting from concept phase until design release, through virtual simulations, ensuring durability and structural functionality of components and / or systems and providing technical solution based on analysis results for developing an optimal design.
  • The FEA-Virtual Analyst & Hoses & Cables Expert is responsible for performing virtual simulations to validate flexible components and assemblies (hydraulic hoses, electrical cables and harnesses, bowden cables) using specific software and virtual tools.
  • The candidate will be requested to perform virtual analysis using IPS Cable Simulation (or similar software) to virtually represent flexible components with the aim of improving quality (prevent oil leakages), decreasing failures rate and machine downtime, reducing complexity, cost and number of prototypes.
  • The selected candidate will support design development through virtual simulations starting at concept phase (even when CAD and 2d drawings are not ready or still incomplete) to assess a first validation, suggesting meaningful technical design solutions in case of potential problems to early select the most promising layout ensuring structural performance and durability.
Key Responsibilities
HOSES & CABLES analysis
  • The candidate will be requested to perform virtual analysis using IPS Cable Simulation (or similar software) to virtually represent flexible components for AG and CE machinery vehicles checking assemblies KPIs and compliancy to desired targets listed in CNH methodologies and procedures.
  • Support and work in close collaboration with designers during concept phase to predict and avoid the most common off-targets and facilitate product development and virtual validation of flexible components assemblies.
  • Support testing and product development in mitigating incidents, field failures and physical proto off-targets using virtual simulations to reproduce failure in the virtual environment and perform root-cause-investigation. Provide modifications and countermeasures to improve the design and close the incident within the time required.
  • Simulation tasks management through internal tracking files (excel spreadsheets) and corporate systems as DEVOPS and CTS.
  • Fill and prepare results reports according to Advanced DA&S procedures and templates.
  • Present formally the results to different audience types (product engineers, testing engineers, product validation teams, management).
  • Populate flexible component database according to supplier’s catalogue, bench test and characterization campaign activities.
  • Test new software and plug‑ins, propose new potential ideas and areas or new research applications with the final aim of:
    • improving simulation fidelity and accuracy of results
    • increase simulation importance and perimeter of application
    • enhance simulation efficiency and processes responsiveness
FEA analysis
  • Support and work in close collaboration with designers during concept phase to predict and avoid the most common off-targets and facilitate product development and virtual validation of flexible components assemblies using innovative meshless tools and approach, able to provide technical design solution and avoid majority of off-targets during the proto phase.
New technologies introduction and dissemination
  • Identification (and support in the introduction) of new potential improvements among new disciplines based on Advanced Design Analysis & Simulation and PE teams requests, in particular quick and real‑time analysis able to be employed during the design early stages, to reduce development time
  • Continuous follow‑up and dissemination in proposing new methods, offering workshops and presentations to capture PE interest and gather activity requests.
Hard Skills
  • Master’s degree in mechanical/automotive/material engineering, or equivalent. Master’s degree in similar industrial fields (aerospace, electronics, energy, management engineering) will be evaluated with a secondary priority
  • 1-2 years of professional industry experience in machinery/heavy machinery/agriculture/commercial vehicles industry. A similar experience in automotive or aerospace corporate companies will also be welcomed
  • Knowledge of structural analysis and mechanical systems
