The Amazon.com Consumables team is seeking a general manager with proven experience in strategy, execution, negotiation, and team development to lead the Baby business. As the Head of Baby you will own the Retail P&L and will be responsible for leading and developing a high performing team, setting strategy to drive profitable growth, creating strong partnerships with selling partners, exploring new and emerging business models, running day-to-day operations, and delivering innovation to improve the customer experience.
The Baby category is a quickly evolving category that is driven by the intersection of industry changes and consumer taste. The leader of this category will play a critical role as a general manager and people leader in building the portfolio and strategy of one of Amazon’s core business categories.
In this role you will be regularly working with senior management including C-level executives from numerous vendors, partners, and internal teams. This position is responsible for managing and developing a team focused on expanding selection, business growth, building vendor relationships, negotiating contracts and pricing, developing promotions, and monitoring and reacting to industry and competitive trends.
This candidate should have experience in people management, negotiations, strategic planning, forecasting, and a background in B2B, B2C or e-commerce businesses. They must be able to work in a highly demanding environment where teamwork is a must. The right candidate will be visionary, flexible, action and results oriented, and self-starting. They must also be decisive and able to move with speed to implement their own ideas.
The successful candidate should have experience managing teams, developing leaders, analyzing new business opportunities, building strong relationships, driving significant top and bottom line results, and be comfortable managing multiple responsibilities within a fast-paced environment. The candidate must also possess strong analytical acumen and be comfortable generating and evaluating various forecasts, metrics, and analyses. The candidate should be adept at problem-solving and managing multiple priorities effectively and efficiently. Strong communication skills (both oral and written) are critical.
As a member of the Baby and Pets Category Manager team, you will partner with peers in setting the business’ long range strategic plans. You will possess direct knowledge of all retail functions within the Baby business (vendor management, marketing, operations and finance) and be capable of self-owning and leading high level meetings with both internal and external executives.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $142,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $236,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
