The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of HPE servers and experience in a data center environment. Responsibilities include installations, maintenance, and building customer relationships. This full-time position emphasizes problem-solving under pressure and effective communication.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Hardware Engineer who will work inside data centers; the role will primarily involve providing server hardware support across a multi‑vendor environment. Hardware includes HPE and Dell servers and includes data centre cabling activities installation, termination, patching and testing of all DC interlink cabling (i.e., CAT‑5e, CAT‑6 6A, fibre optic). The role also includes data centre facilities management activities such as IMAC/D (install, move and change, decommissioning) work, escorting external resources, requesting access, goods in/out.

Responsibilities

• Installations, maintenance, and repairs on customer equipment.
• Installation, termination and testing of all data centre interlink cabling.
• Build strong customer relationships; manage complex customer problems.
• Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by clarifying needs and ensuring they are met; handle customer‑relations problems promptly.
• Ensure all calls are resolved within the agreed SLA; escalated when required and update customers until the call is resolved and closed.
• Communicate at all levels, both written and verbal.
• Remain calm and solve problems under pressure.

Required Skills and Attributes

• Strong knowledge of HPE servers.
• Experience with patch cabling in DC environment.
• Good knowledge of Service Now (SNOW).
• Sound knowledge of ESD working practice.
• Sound knowledge of general health & safety.
