A luxury fashion brand based in Milan seeks a Men Leather Goods Designer to collaborate on collections and special projects, ensuring alignment with brand aesthetics. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years in a similar role, proficient in design tools, and fluent in English. Competenze

• 5-7 years of experience in a similar role.
• Good knowledge in product development constructions, materials, fabrics, techniques and industrial production processes.
• Excellent in freehand drawing.
• Proficient on all design platforms such as Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, Procreate, Microsoft Suite.
• Fluency in English.

Overview

Following the guidelines and input of the Men Leather Goods Design Director, the Men Leather Goods Designer will collaborate with the team in developing Men Leather Goods collections & special projects in line with the Brand aesthetic and principles.

Key Accountabilities

Research trends and inspirations

• Participate in the creativity of the category through knowledge of latest trends.
• Monitor the marketplace to identify opportunities to stay ahead of competitors.
• Based on a theme or on Artistic Director inputs, research inspiration through: Vintage markets, Suppliers, Archives, Web Expositions, Books, Materials.

Design and Collection Development

• Develop sketches based on Senior Designer / Design Director inputs and the Brand aesthetic.
• Propose new ideas.
• Share the draws with the Senior Designer / Design Director and modify or integrate them with real size mock up.
• Apply graphic corrections (colors, materials) on draws or develop rendering.
• Ensure interactions with Manufacture and Merchandising, sharing information on the products of the Collection / Special project develops and guaranteeing the application of their inputs received.
• Continuously interact with different categories to ensure coherence on the Collection / Special project.
• Ensure a clear communication and continuous interaction with internal stakeholders, providing all the details, size, proportions needs for each product, guaranteeing solutions in case of issues.

Requirements

Functional

• 5-7 years of experience in a similar role.
• Good knowledge in product development constructions, materials, fabrics, techniques and industrial production processes.
• Sound culture of fashion, trends, designers and history of the Brand.
• Excellent in freehand drawing.
• Proficient on all design platforms such as Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, Procreate, Microsoft Suite.
• Positive spirit, able to forge working teams with different multi-cultural personalities.
• Ability to maintain energy, focus and to work under pressure.
• Fluency in English.
