Accountabilities

We are looking for a strategic and results-driven Global Senior Merchandiser to oversee and coordinate MCM Lifestyle (ready-to-wear, footwear, soft accessories) & Licensing categories, covering both core collections and special capsules. This role is central to shaping product strategy and driving commercial success across all markets. The ideal candidate brings strong merchandising expertise, a clear product vision, excellent analytical skills, and hands‑on leadership.

Key Accountabilities

Collection & Retail Merchandising

  • Drive and coordinate the end-to-end global merchandising process for Women’s, Men’s, and Unisex Lifestyle & Licensing categories, ensuring a consistent brand message while addressing regional needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Design, Product Development, Digital, Commercial, VM, CRM, and regional partners) to build cohesive, high-performing collections.
  • Collaborate on collection architecture and strategy informed by market insights, sales performance, trend analysis and MCM brand DNA.
  • Drive margin improvements by managing product mix and development through final line editing.
  • Provide seasonal product forecasts and support corporate planning with accurate inputs.
  • Set buying guidelines and lead regional reviews to identify growth opportunities while mitigating inventory risks.
  • Develop go-to-customer calendars by product and theme for DTC channels, ensuring alignment with Digital Merchandising and Global Customer Engagement team.
  • Partner with Commercial Merchandising to identify in-season business drivers and align on end-of-season strategies (including in season reorder needs).
  • Manage the brand catalog, including newness, carryover, and still valid in alignment with Commercial Merchandising.
  • Act swiftly to adapt the assortment and strategy to business needs and market feedback – regular calls with Commercial Merchandising and / or regional teams.
Team Leadership and Development
  • Create a collaborative and high-performance team environment with regular check-ins and open communication.
  • Act as a key liaison with the Head of Global Merchandising to align on priorities and execution plans.
  • Cascade strategies and updates effectively to key stakeholders and ensure consistent implementation across channels and regions.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
  • Monitor collection performance and apply data-driven insights to optimize offer and drive sell-through.
  • Deliver regular qualitative and quantitative business reports and competitive analysis to inform decision-making.
  • Lead key strategy discussions with the Head of and CMO when required.
Innovation and Trend Analysis
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, customer behaviors, and competitor moves to keep the category innovative and relevant.
  • Identify and drive new opportunities that elevate the brand and strengthen its position in the market.
  • If need, be able to conduct explorative meetings with vendors (foreign and Italian) for new materials and new techniques.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of Collection (preferred) or Retail Merchandising experience.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering commercially successful collections.
  • Strong analytical skills combined with excellent product sensibility.
  • Clear and confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills – must be able to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); Italian is a plus.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; strong overall MS Office skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are paramount.
  • Ability to manage product development tasks remotely with teams based outside Europe.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment, able to prioritize, make decisions, and deliver under tight deadlines.

This position is full-time in office.
