Job Description Summary

The Global Process Engineer (GPE) will work closely with the Global Manufacturing Engineering Leader, the primary focus area will be developing and deploying global standards that improve the reliability, availability, and performance of Aero Alliance’s manufacturing equipment and processes. They will analyze data, and work cross‑functionally to implement proactive measures that improve processes. This person will also be responsible for cost reduction through standardization of equipment and processes, establishing standards, and ensuring adherence to these standards. They will also be a focal point for new technology introductions, asset transfers, new process introductions; inclusive of lead time, technology selection and recommendations for fixturing, tooling, process, control plans, and qualifications of manufacturing assets. The GPE will coach and influence a dotted‑line organization, comprised of factory manufacturing engineers across the Aero Alliance factories. Critical to the role is leveraging analytical skills, the lean methodology and the guiding principle of creating process standards for equipment (“One Product One Process”) to drive SQDC in line with business and functional objectives. The candidate chosen for this position will acquire strong technical knowledge and extensive exposure to manufacturing, engineering, quality, and safe process development. The selected candidate plays a key role in the Aero Alliance business, and in building a culture of inclusion and respect for people as well as continuous improvement.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Develop, Qualify, and Improve manufacturing processes. Define global process standards and equipment standards and deploy them across the Aero Alliance factories, partnering with local factory technical leaders.
  • Define, control, communicate global processes for manufacturing assets, including facility integration, acceptance testing, machine health checks & calibrations, preventative maintenance plans, spare parts strategy, technical & technology training.
  • Validate engineering specifications and shop floor application of new processes, including EHS, Manufacturing Engineers, Engineering, Quality, Materials, Industrialization, Materials, and Sourcing.
  • Partner with channels on the development of new repair processes and qualifications.
  • Develop and implement reliability improvement strategies using industry best practices such as FMEA and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Collaborate with maintenance, operations, engineering, and safety teams to design and implement preventive and predictive programs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing equipment downtime and improving quality processes.
  • Lead investigations into failures and chronic issues, identifying root causes and implementing robust corrective actions to eliminate the problems from re‑occurring.
  • Provide technical support for asset management, including equipment life cycle analysis and spare parts optimization.
  • Train local factory manufacturing engineers to deepen their expertise in process and equipment.
  • Participate in the design and installation of new equipment and implementation of processes, ensuring reliability is considered from the outset (Design for Reliability).
  • Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stay informed of industry trends that may inform work.
  • Use high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders, offering new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and constructing recommendations using multiple internal and external sources.
  • Lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicate difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics. Guide others to consider different points of view.
Additional Requirements
  • Engage design for Six Sigma methodology (DFSS), including measuring existing machine capability, analyzing process requirements, and developing a strategy to maintain or improve process yield.
  • Deploy lean principles, including 3P (Production Preparation Process), Total Productive Maintenance, Jidoka, PQ/PR, Takt Cycle, Standard Work, Value Stream Maps, Kaizen, 4D/8D/A3 Problem Solving, and Poka Yoke.

  • 5+ years of experience in a technical role (manufacturing engineer or similar) with expertise in machining processes and equipment (e.g., grinding, milling, turning, EDM, etc.).

  • Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings, and schematics.
  • Project management skills and experience.

Compensation & Benefits

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $104,600.00 and $174,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
